Summer in the park
During the summer 2014 I watched every evening The Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorials on youtube. All that were available and many repeatedly. Then I tried my first quilt. For my sister for christmas. I thought a deadline would help to start and finish and not give up during the way. It worked! It's of the size of a German bed. So happy with my new hobby!

I saw someone's window pane quilt with a Winter panel and was inspired to make one for myself. When I found this fabric It was offered as a kit. The kit didn't have this window look to it so I had to go to another site to download the pattern.

I made this for my ex boyfriends daughter. When we broke up he gave it back to me. I'm going to hold on to it in hopes that someday she will seek me out and I can give it back to her. This is the third quilt I ever made.

Tree of Life
I saw a set of ceramic tiles that really caught my eye. (A photo of the tiles are shown on the lower right) They were done in earth tones and when put together, formed a beautiful tree of life mural. I immediately thought what a beautiful quilt that would make. I had purchased some Stonehenge Warm Stone fat quarters awhile back that I hadn't found the "perfect" project for and they were exactly what was needed. The squares were sewn together with black fabric forming the sashing (grout) between each block. I then sketched out the tree on the blocks. This is all totally free motion quilting. It was so much fun working on this.

Peacock Wall Hanging
One of my dear friend's maiden name is Peacock. She collects peacocks, so when I found the peacock panel,I knew I had to make her a quilt! This was my first attempt at mitered borders. By the time I got around to the fourth miter, I did pretty well!

I saw this quilt on the cover of a Quilting Quickly ... and it was the blue chevron by Jenny ... from Missouri Star ... so I had to make it ... I failed on the first attempt ... but i have a really cute smaller quilt for a table topper .... on my second try I love the way it turned out. .... thank you MSQC for bringing me into quilting.

Nick's Maze
This pattern looked like the perfect one for my grandson. The tan fabric is the walkway, the light blue is the wall and the dark blue is the wall shadow. It was so much fun to make, following the path as I finished each block. It really works and goes back and forth thru most of the quilt.
