This quilt is really out of the norm for me. I generally like matching colors and not a lot of curved piecing. But I needed the practice and also needed to whittle down my stash a bit. I really like how it turn out and I got a lot of curved piecing practice.

Pink and Gray Diamonds
This was my first try at diamonds. It was made for a friend to give at a baby shower. The diamonds were fun and not at all as difficult as I had imagined. The soft pinks and greys don't show up well on the computer screen. I was overall very pleased with this one.

Ninga's stars
When my grandson was first learning to talk, he called me Ninga. That was his way of saying grandma. The name stuck and 12 years later I am still Ninga to my grandkids. When I asked him if I could make him a quilt he said he would like it soft and "manly." So I made it with all flannels and wool batting. It turned out better than I expected! The Ninja stars, or friendship stars, became Ninga's stars. I hope he likes it as much as I enjoyed making it for him.

Irish Chain
I used up some scraps from a Jelly Roll of Simply Style to create this Irish Chain. These are my favorite type of quilts - just scraps! I photographed it by the harbor of 99 Islands (Kujukushima) in Sasebo, Japan. The opening credits of 'The Last Samuri' were filmed here!

Navy Hexies
This is the very first experience I ever had with quilting. A very crafty and patient friend walked me through how to use a rotary cutter, how to sandwich each hexagon and how to hand sew sew one, then sew them all together. It is still a work in progress, started as a pillow top, then to baby quilt and now on the way to becoming single bed quilt.

I love this pattern. It is so easy to sew. I used the Summer Breeze III collection layer cake cut into 5 inch squares, altered the measurements for the other pieces to match the 5 inch square.

Stitcher's Garden - My Version
This is the biggest project I've ever tried, and I wanted to quilt it myself on my home machine. I constructed it in 12 seperate parts, quilted each section, and then joined them together. I loved leaarning all the different types of stitches my machine can do.
