Cornflower Kaleidoscope

This quilt was started before the pandemic hit, as a first try out of the "stack and whack" technique. It is hand quilted and went on the frame about a year ago. I quilted a little bit here and there but finally decided I needed to just Git-er-done. Now I can take the frame down and rearrange the bedroom!

North Star with LK wagon wheels

This is another quilt for a friend, kind of a housewarming gift for their new retirement place. It's a North Star (MO Star tutorial) quilted with Lori Kennedy's wagon wheel pattern. The quilting was made to recede into the background on the front but since the back is dark, it really popped! Happy surprise!

Hunter's Star and "Star Trail"

I originally planned to make a "Hunter's Star" quilt for a friend, but then I decided to switch out the 4 patch blocks for snail trail blocks so I'm calling it "Star Trail". I didn't have a big enough piece of fabric left for the backing, so I ended up making a Hunter's Star after all and using that for the back.

One Way

This was my first new quilt in about 33 years. It's big - 104"x104". Machine pieced and hand quilted. Designed in EQ8. It's made from very simple blocks - HST & 4 patch. A lot of "keeping track" to put it together. Hand quilted, whew!

Blue flames Patio Quilt

This Carpenter's Star lap quilt was made with the remaining Garden Club charm squares from the 2 earlier patio quilts. Tried something new this time. I used Cuddle minky fabric for the back. It's wonderfully cushy - like those super soft stuffed animals, and this is one cozy quilt. Free motion quilted with flames for the fire pit.

This quilt was made with the Sew Kind of Wonderful Quick Curve ruler. I was signed up for a class that got cancelled due to Covid, so I used scraps and figured it out at home, then made this out of the blanks I had already cut for the class. Mom liked this one, so it was an early Christmas present!
