I have been married to a wonderful man for 43 years. He patiently waits for me at fabric stores and I have followed him all over the world. Thank goodness I have a large family, it gives me purpose and inspiration for making a verity of quilts and other crafts.

Family Valor
This quilt is dedicated to my Father-in-law and his sons grandson and daughter-in-law. Their service spans from the years of WWII to Desert Storm. They were what other did not want to be, they went were others failed to go and did what others failed to do. They asked nothing from those who gave nothing and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness should they fail. They have seen the face of terror , felt the sting of cold of fear and enjoyed the sweet taste of victory. They have lived times other would say were best forgotten. We are proud of what they did. As family of these soldier we have a love them and a pride we share for our country.

Flying Home
I met my friend over 42 years ago when our husbands first joined the military. We have stayed in touch and her and her husband have finally come home to Texas for good. I wanted to make her a quilt for her couch to remind her that she has made her way home. I used two jelly roll and additional yardage with left over strips also used on the backing.

Angel-phants
My niece wanted a quilt with elephants, but the fabric was either too young or old for her. Grandma said she tried explaining something to her, but she didn’t understand. I understood my niece perfectly - it was can we applique the elephants on the front of other fabric, yes. The hunt began for a pattern and we settled on the Windham Fabrics Paisley Splash, but instead of increasing the size of the elephant to make a wall hanging, I shrunk the size of the water splashes for 12 individual elephants. This is my niece’s Ellie-phant quilt made with her fabric choices.
