Bec02

This is the second quilt that I made. It was for my daughter. I had a pattern for the star block that I got from my Thimbleberries book, but created the border on my own (with some input from my husband).

I made this for a friend. I turned it into a paper pieced pattern instead of doing all the half-square triangles. I generally make scrappy quilts and this one only used 3 fabrics. I think the fewer number of fabrics and the soft colors created a calm/peaceful effect.

This is my first quilt. I made it without a pattern, so I don't know what it is called. It reminds me of saw blades. I made it for my son. Looking back at it, I can see that a couple of my background fabrics stood out too much, but it doesn't matter because my son loved it.
