Giant Dahlia
In fall 2014, I was fortunate enough to take a Giant Dahlia class from Suzzy Payne, a well known quilting teacher in my area. The petals of the dahlia are made from just two ombre fabrics and are fussy cut along the lengthwise grain. I machine quilted the dahlia in a radiant pattern using various colors of thread.

Zoe's Quilt
I made this twin quilt set for my niece, Zoe, as a present for her eleventh birthday. It features Amy Butler fabrics and half square triangles.

Sampler quilt
I made this sampler in a local quilting class in 2013, which was taught by Suzzy Payne. The batiks are from a collection by Laundry Basket quilts, but I couldn't find its name. The class helped to solidify my love of quilting and taught me a great deal about sewing. I had fun fitting this modern fabric into a more traditional quilt design.

Sliced Apple Core Quilt
I made this quilt for my sister-in-law as a housewarming present. I used the large apple core template by MSQC and then "sliced" each apple core in half and added a solid sashing strip to emphasize the woven effect created by the piecing/ fabric placement.

Big Star Quilt
Another one down the tube!! Over a year ago I took Jenny Doan's "Big Star" class. It started out to be a table topper, then I thought I should make it long enough to go on the back of my couch. A friend of mine pointed out that if I was going to do that, I needed to add another row so it could hang down the back of the couch so...this is the result. Finally finished it today.

3 Dudes A New Twist
Made with Burlap Solids jellyroll. I tried to go from light to dark like Rob did on his Man Sewing Tutorial, but it wasn't working out well with all the colors in this jellyroll, so I decided to just mix the colors up. Rather than doing the piano keys border, I decided to add a wide black border. This quilt goes together pretty quick. Thanks for the tutorial!
