I am a beginner quilter and this is my first large quilt, that I made for my husband. I watched the MSQC videos on the pinwheel, hourglass, and square in a square block. I couldn't decide which block I liked best, so I decided to use them all. When they did not come out the same sizes, sashes were needed, and then cornerstones. There was even enough material left for a tumbler border. My husband loved his gift, and I enjoyed all the planning and sewing. Thanks for your encouragement and inspiration.

A Bouquet for Barbara

In December, 2014, my friend Barbara had a terrible accident. As she was cooking, she reached over the stove and her sleeve caught on fire. Luckily, her husband was home at the time. He rushed to help her and called 911. Barbara spent 3 months in the burn unit at the hospital, and rehab. She is home now, but still recovering. I started this quilt when the tragedy occurred, and finished it a week before she got home. Barbara was so happy to get her gift.

Chocolate Delights

For last Valentine's Day, I bought this delicious layer cake from Missouri Star Quilt Co. The top was from Jenny's Present Quilt video, and was completed in a few weeks. Then, I took some classes at Sew Right, a wonderful local fabric store, and had 2 large quilts and 5 small quilts to finish. This summer began with my pledge to finish my chocolate quilt. The back has 20 more chocolate squares with sashings in between. I even practiced free motion quilting designs. My husband is a very special guy, and this quilt is for him. Thanks for the inspiration, Jenny!

Ribbon Stars on Black

I had done a Ribbon Star quilt for a gift last Christmas and so enjoyed it that when I was attempting to use up my stash (a never ending quest) I decided to do it again, but with a black background. A friend loved the blocks and claimed it before it was half done.

Building Blocks by Moda Bake Shop pattern

I found this darling baby fabric so then I found the pattern for free on Moda's web site. It goes together easily. You don't have to have the center square monogrammed, but I thought it made it special. I put Cuddle Cloth on the back of both quilts. Moms and babies love it! I have one pink quilt & one blue quilt pictured.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

A quilting buddy gave me this Christmas panel last year but being a 'newbie' at quilting I didn't know what to do with it. Then I saw the MSQC attic window tutorial and problem solved - except I didn't have any concept of how large it would become. Way too big for a wall hanging so I decided to add some blocks to the side, and an outer border to give it more width and I have a Christmas snuggle quilt! I used silver metallic thread to quilt snowflakes on it.

I had sewn a solid red binding on this square, then followed a cloth bowl/bin tutorial from Vanessa, with the Crafty Gemini. So simple to make, and in no time at all! Christmas Panel Quilt

This is the Christmas Quilt I made to keep. I got the pattern from the fabric manufacturer's website. It was for a smaller panel so I had to add the sashing on the sides to get it to fit. I love the way it turned out and I'm keeping this one for my own Christmas quilt.
