Retired and quilting, quilting and more quilting. I love the process, shopping for good buys on good fabric, cutting (I do use a few pew cuts) but mostly I cut. Piecing, everything is done on a machine, no hand sewing here, too much arthritis. I love the planning and layout process, I free motion quilt my own quilts. I doodle a lot trying to come up with ideas that can free motion onto my quilts. I use colored markers to help me decide on color and sometimes on pattern. I use more graph paper now than I did when I was in school. I hang my quilts up on a design wall until they talk to me about how they want to be quilted, that sounds funny, but it works.
