The world is not just black & white
After many very colorful quilts I felt I needed a color cleansing. It was impossible for me to stick with just black, white, & gray, so at the last minute added hot pink & purple.

Dot to dot delectable mountain block quilt
Here's a prayer quilt. This idea came from a couple craftsy classes I took. I really like this block and the quilting idea. I used minky like fabric on the back in black along with 80/20 black batting.

Prairie Pines Quilt
We love Vermont and so when I found this Prairie Pines pattern from Lynette Jensen of Thimbleberries, I knew I had to make it to remind us of our years vacationing in Vermont. Here it is as I was making my quilt sandwich. The border fabric is a beautiful Christmas fabric with red cardinals from one of the Hoffman fabric lines.

I made this quilt as a fundraiser for my daughter's school. The pattern is from Eleanor Burns "The Jewel Box". The piano key border and mitered corners on the border add that extra special "wow" factor to the overall design. I love how all the fabrics came together!

Wonky Squares Quilt
This was fun...just keep adding pieces as you go and make the blocks and then join them. Each block was quilted differently which was a lot of work so don't know if I'm THAT into it. The sense of freedom creates something unusual yet "colorful" :-)

Reflections of Butterflies in Lemonade
This quilt was from the first version of the "Dissappearing Hourglass." I used the directions in the magazine, which had you measure from the center seam, rather than 1/3 of the way in from the outside. My seams weren't exact, or my math was off, so the "butterflies" float. This design came about by accident, and I caused another one, hence "Lemonade." It's mostly Robyn Pandolph fabrics given to me by a friend who was stash-busting. It now lives with my DS1 and DDIL1 in Indiana.

Rainbow String Quilt
This was my first string quilt, made entirely from scraps. My scraps are sorted by color, so it was easy to create blocks by color. I didn't have a plan when I started making the blocks;I was simply experimenting with foundation piecing. This quilt makes me smile every time I look at it; of dozens of quilts I've made in the past three years, it's by far my fave! It hangs in my sewing room.
