Retired. Live in Magnolia Texas. Started quilting 3 years ago when I found 12 pieced quilt tops my Italian immigrant grandmother had left in a trunk not opened for many, many years. I had those professionally quilted. I thought I'd honor my grandmother by learning to quilt. She embroidered, crocheted and quilted everything. She did not learn to speak English and couldn't read patterns so she just looked at the item she wanted and reproduced it-no patterns!. I also embroider and crochet but never learned to quilt. So as I cut out and piece my quilts, I honor my dear, sweet grandmother.
