This is the story of how my parent in laws grew up, met and had a family. It shows my MIL and FIL from childhood through their 40th Anniversary. It was given as a gift to them in appreciation for welcoming me to the family. Photos printed on fabric. Machine pieced. Hand quilted.

Beth's Birthday
For my grandmother's 95th birthday I made a 'chicken quilt'. She is famous in our family for making babies in the family 'chicken scratch quilts'. Each 'chicken' is actually the traced handprint of each of her 3 children, their spouses, her grandchildren, their spouses and her great-grandchildren. I deliniated the 3 families by color (red chickens, black chickens and yellow chickens). The combs are heart shaped. This was a labor of love and a miracle our family was able to all participate!

Superman Auction Quilt
This was a crib quilt I made for our local hospital auction. The theme of the Gala was SuperHeroes so I made a Superman quilt and also the Fabric Coloring Book to go with it. I found a really cool b/w comic strip fabric that I used for the washable book. I don't remember what it went for (sorry - but we all know we 'work' for pennies on the hour) but I do remember there was a bidding war between a grandmother and a pregnant woman.

Baby Boy Clothes Quilt
This was the second quilt I ever made. I used my son's baby clothes from birth until he turned 1. I used white cotten fabric to help stabalize all the knit fabric. I traced his handprint with thread. Used denim for the backing.

More Irish Chains
I made 5 Irish Chain quilts in early 3013. Here are two more. One was made after my embroidered butterfly quilt shrank and no longer fit the bed! I gave it to my sister for Christmas. The other was my first purple and green, it ended up way too big for a twin bed! It is a generous queen!
