Hard Times
This quilt began as my first "big" quilt that I made from scratch. As in, not one precut was used :-D. It was completed during a rough year of two moves and two job changes but I learned a lot while making it. The block pattern is the Four Patch Star, an original pattern by Marcia Hohn via www.quilterscache.com. this block REALLLLY helped me get my 1/4" seam down and the colors are a combination of an unknown fabric from Joann's, the "Deep In The Heart of Texas" collection by Moda and the "Holiday in the Pines" collection by Moda and I free motion quilted it on my domestic machine. I'm proud of this one because of what I went through while making it, it will serve as a constant reminder to learn from your mistakes in all things, I honestly feel I have a special bond with this quilt because of that rough year. I hate it but love it at the same time but the quilt and I have an "understanding," it keeps me warm at night on my bed and I remember to heed the lessons it taught.
