My first commissioned quilt
i was in ketchikan ak from 9-2014 to 4-2015 with my husbands job. marooned in a garage apt with two dogs and a janome 15000 and yards of fabric I ordered off M* I decided to try something different... so I search the perfect pattern for the batiks I had and came up with the Waste Knot pattern, a local long armer did the beautiful work on the quilt and I wrapped the 6" border to the back for the binding. Made $500 on this twin size quilt.

Same alaska trip, my niece searched the M* site and came up with the layer cake she wanted, so I made her a 42" dresden of my own design. It went off to Colorado for her birthday - double dresden with covered button

fabric challenge
Anyone recognize this? my love of dresden came from this- it came from Jenny's tut. We had a fabric challenge a year ago in the guild and my secret pal had given me at least 500 pc of 5" sq. so I put them to good use... My first attempt at FMQ, embroidery, and applique plus if you look hard you can see my feeble attempt at binding.. still haven't mastered that yet and some of my quilts hang unbound... eek

Post card swap
another alaska story (I was there a LONNNG TIME) the LQS had a ladies of the evening sewing night so i joined them. they were doing post card exchanges with other LQS all across the USA. I got the local fabric with is adorable and did my fussy cutting and appliqué... eek on the binding again

One more of my alaska tributes... the LQS had an adorable wall hanging in a frame = so i took a pic with my phone, found a sunbonnet sue on the net, printed out a pic on my printer and used local fabrics to fashion my own little wall hanging. I didn't see any eskimo in alaska, apparently they are up where it actually snows. I didn't see any Northern lights either .... so I improvised

denium wheelchair rag quilt
I made this quilt for my mailman's son, he was hurt in a atv accident and was paralized from the chest down. his dad was telling me that they had a hard time keeping his feet covered so I created a pouch on the back of the quilt to put his feet. well I was told that worked really well cause they found kitten had got in there and helped to keep his feet warm? lol
