I have not been quilting long. but I became disable a few years ago and needed something I could take pride in.. my mother taught me about quilting when i was a child, but never really understood it til now!

I called it "The Ugly Quilt"
I was just going to make a scrap quilt, from all my leftover material, and none of it really matched... well I got them all sewn together and It wasn't as ughy as I thought it would be. I tried that quilt as you go method? I found it is a lot harder than it looks! I did the best I could with it. it is still a very functional quilt

I made this quilt for my mailman's son, he was hurt in a atv accident and was paralized from the chest down. his dad was telling me that they had a hard time keeping his feet covered so I created a pouch on the back of the quilt to put his feet. well I was told that worked really well cause they found kitten had got in there and helped to keep his feet warm? lol

QR Code
I made this birthday quilt for my son who is a math & computer whiz. It's a working QR code! I found a free website that makes the QR code from text you type in. Then printed it out to use as my pattern. Sewed the black and white pieces together row by row. Backed it with flannel of the university from which he graduated for a cozy quilt.

Falling charms quilt
I started this quilt for my soon-to-be daughter-in-law. She lives blues, greens and purples so I thought this charm pack would be perfect. I started using my stash to make the backing so lots of rectangles in blue. This is the first time I have used a walking foot with my quilting so it took a bit of time to get used to. Hope she likes it.

Jay's Hunting T-shirts
My friend asked me to make this quilt out of his t-shirts as a thank you for his son who spent years hunting with him. It was slightly challenging because the images were different sizes. Sashing, borders and backing were cozy flannel. Because he wanted emphasis on the t-shirt images, I used mono-poly clear thread for the quilting so as to not obscure the pictures.

Annalise's Quilt
Baby quilt for my 4th granddaughter. Design came from 2 different fish quilts I found online. I used blues b/c her room is painted a light/medium teal that changes hues as the sun light moves through the day. Some of the fabric patterns mimic water. The border is scraps of the fish fabrics that follow the fish from light to dark around the quilt. Quilting was done in waves to represent water.

This was a gift for my daughter's now exboyfriend
I wanted to make a really special quilt for my daughter's ex-boyfriend (boyfriend at the time I made it). He had acquired his captain's license. This is what I gave him for Christmas in honor of his achievement. I think the Mariner's Star was quite appropriate.

Diversity Quilt
I volunteer at our local history museum and we were looking for a fund raiser. Our current exhibit was antique quilts, and two of them were signature quilts. It gave me the idea to create our own original signature quilt and to sell the squares. Each block illustrates a family in Danbury and the place where the family members were born. Each came to Danbury for different reasons, but all have become part of the fabric of our community. The quilt is now a permanent part of the Danbury Museum Quilt Collection.

Paint By Number Bargello
I just finished this bargello last night, all I have to do is quilt it and bind it. Only problem, is my favorite quilt shop where I rented a long arm is closing August 8th. I'm so sad. What shall I do to quilt it? I know, purchase my own long arm machine!! My husband just smiles. I did this entire quilt top in my motorhome, on the road for the summer. I am so happy. I've finally figured out how to cut, sew, iron, and piece in my motorhome without a lot of problems. Yay. Thank you for looking.
