Mom's Memory Quilt
This was the BEST moment of my Birthday, giving Mom her finished quilt. Each block represents a part of Mom and Dad's life together. Blocks from top left, going counter-clockwise: their Wedding photo, Misssouri Star Block, Family photo, Road to California Block, photo of Mom and Dad at Catalina Island, Memory Block, Angel of Piece Block, photo of Dad in the Army (he was stationed in Alaska), Road to Alaska Block, photo of Mom and Dad at the Troxel farm in Weatherby, MO, Country Roads Block, photo of Mom and Dad for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Top middle block is a Double Wedding Ring with their Anniversary Date. This quilt fabric is from the Wyndham Cleo line, quilting by Missouri Start Quilt Co. Doctor Who
My sister and I made this quilt as a high school graduation gift for our niece. I pieced the Tardis and 3 of the border blocks (book, cube, scarf) from photos of paper pieced blocks from a Doctor-Who-Along, a Foundation Pieced Quilt block patterns by Caroline Press at trilliumdesign.blogspot.com. My sister made the remaining border blocks using the same patterns but she modified them for needle-turn appliqué. The Bad Wolf, Crack in Time, and Police Box wording were made using wool.

Wash Cloth Onsies
I saw a quilt on QuiltsbyMe made by Just Quiltin. I thought it very cute. I had a package of baby wash cloths that I used for the onesies. I got the pattern from Fatcatpatterns. It has both machine quilting plus some hand work. A fun project for a great great nephew

Trev's Hockey Quilt
My 10-year old son wanted to quilt like me, so I made him do it start to finish. He picked out the fabric, the top design, and the border design. I set him up on my old machine, showed him how to work it, including how to thread & troubleshoot it, and he did an awesome job piecing together this quilt top! This is based on Jenny's "Snowball 4 Patch Quilt" tutorial. He did request help, and I sewed the borders, but other than that, the credit is all his!
