Wife, mom of 3 great kids, babci of 1 beautiful baby, registered nurse for 38 years (yikes!) and looking forward to retirement so I can sew to my heart's content. Other favorite things to do: definitely gardening (the flower kind), going to Red Sox games, floating in my pool, traveling, especially to St. Maarten, and did I mention sewing?

Made with Lucy's Crab Shack fabric by Sweetwater, one of my favorite designers. Used the small hexi ruler from MSQC. Quilted by MSQC in an adorable flip-flop design.

The Elusive Quilt
I started quilting in 2000. After making several quilts, including log cabin quilts for my 2 daughters, I got stalled over a block of the month quilt and completely stopped quilting for 11 years. When I resumed quilting I made this quilt for my son who waited patiently all those years for me to make him a quilt. It was expertly quilted by the Missouri Star Quilt Company.

Little Apples
My first quilt back in 2012 when I resumed quilting after 10 years, I was inspired by my new granddaughter, this fun fabric and Jenny! It was also the first quilt sent to be quilted, to MSQC. I was so happy when it was delivered to me....I had sent a flimsy and it came back a proper quilt. She brings it to daycare every day, it's been washed a bajillion times, and it's well loved.

The traveling quilt
I made this log cabin flannel quilt for my daughter back in 2001 when she was in college in Vermont. It's traveled everywhere with her. While she was deployed with the 10th Mountain Division to Afghanistan I mailed it to her to keep her warm during that cold winter. It's a bit faded, but still going strong 15 years later.

Quilt as you go
This quilt was so much fun. I took a jelly roll and cut it in half, length ways. So I had strips that were 1 1/4 inches wide. They are 10 inch squares. This method makes a heavier quilt, I think.

There Will Be No More Talk About Yo-yos
About three years ago my Guild's President's Challenge was to create a quilt with a rainbow hiding in plain sight. The yo-yo circles were stitched, by machine, to the quilt sandwich BEFORE they were drawn up into yo-yos. This created the actual quilting that looks like bubbles on the quilt back.. On the back I also added a few miscellaneous circles as if they were being pulled through the quilt sandwich to become more yo-yos. The quilt was the only double award winner, taking Viewer's Choice & Best Contemporary Interpretation of a Traditional Design. As an added nod, it was selected to be included as one of the quilts pictured in a set of note cards published by the Guild this past year.
