My mom was a home ec teacher and taught me how to sew at a young age. My grandmothers and great aunts were quilters, and besides sewing my own clothes and clothes for my kids, I did basic quilts with squares, machine embroidery, and sashing, and I hand tied them. It wasn't until about 5 years ago that I first got into intricate piecing through a local quilt shop's Block of the Month, and I was hooked! I continue to do the Block of the Month through the shop, but have also branched out into designing my own quilts and doing Children's Art Quilts from drawings, and pet portraits from photos. And in addition to purchasing a beautiful Babylock sewing/embroidery machine, I also purchased a longarm machine so I can do my own free-motion quilting on larger quilts. I love beautiful fabric, and I use a lot of batiks and Moda grunge in my projects. I am continually working to improve my skills and I learn something new with every project I do! Quilting has brought me in touch with very amazing people.
