I have made quilts for all five of my grandchildren. I'm now moving on to their second, non-baby quilt. I especially wanted to make a new, colorful quilt for my oldest grandson as his baby quilt was in tans and blues and not as colorful as the subsequent baby quilts. This time I got to ask him what kind of quilt he wanted - he even picked out the panel. The rest was my design, even to the freehand masks. I hope he will use and enjoy his quilt. I certainly had fun making it.

My Chevron Quilt
My daughter, Heather, moved into an apartment her sophomore year at college in 2013. This was the perfect quilt for her room going from dorm to apartment whom she shared with roommates. In addition to this quilt, I made her 2 MSQC Zig Zag table runners from the charm pack. With a little left over fabric I made her a pillow case. (From the MSQC tutorial also) This was her first quilt and a gift that she will truly treasure.

Hummingbird Garden
This is the quilt I made as a wedding present for my brother and sister-in-law. They have several hummingbird feeders in their yard and enjoy watching the hummingbirds. When I saw the name on the pattern -"Hummingbird" - I knew it was the one I wanted to use. Quilting is stitch-in-the-ditch around the "hummingbirds" and hand quilted in the middle of each hummingbird and the background.

For My Mom
I made this quilt from Rachel Ashwell fabrics for my Mom's 86th Birthday. My Mom loves quilts but doesn't sew a stitch. It was the first full-size quilt I ever attempted and I was pretty scared working with all that expensive fabric. It turned out perfectly, my Mom loved it and I went on to make three more large quilts. I use a Husqvarna Lily 550 to quilt.

Dresden Spring
This wall hanging was designed, pieced and quilted by me. I call it Dresden Spring. The dresdens were quilted with rulers and the white background is FMQ. I used MSQC's easy cathedral window tutorial for the border.
