I am just learning to quilt and started this project after watching Jenny's tutorial. This quilt has lots of mistakes, but I heard Jenny say in a tutorial, "I'd rather have a finished quilt than a perfect quilt", and that's what I have. I'm happy with it! Love those MSQC tutorials!

Halloween Quilt

I wanted a Halloween quilt and using a combination of Jenny's borders and binding videos made this quilt for my granddaughters. It went together quickly, and using Jenny's Ultimate Binding tutorial, the binding was easy to do. I'm very happy with the results. Love, love, love her tutorials!

Texas Zipper Quilt

I needed a quick and easy quilt pattern to piece, quilt and mail to a friend who had been in an accident. She is an avid Texas Longhorn alumni and fan and I knew the lap quilt had to have orange in it! Also it has soft minky on the back. As I expected, she called so excited when it was delivered.

dresden plate quilt

Double Wedding ring

Quilt made from recycled fabric.

This quilt was made from old used fabrics my Mom had. I intentionally made it to look like it is an antique quilt. After piecing it I gave it a short tea bath. I pieced this four years ago and think it looks old. I love this quilt. It made me wonder if anyone else has tried this. Fill a bath tub with warm water add tea bags then remove then put quilt into tub until desired stain is on quilt. Try on scrap to determine soaking time. My quilt was soaked for 20 minutes then rinsed in cool water followed by white vinegar and into the dryer to set.

Dana's T-block

I loved the T-block tutorial quilt that Jenny made, but ended up not very happy with the quilt - I eventually realized that the sashing was just too dark to get the right "floating" kind of look that had so appealed to me. But, my daughter loved it, so it's hers now!

My Very First Quilt!

After several years away from sewing, my dear cousin convinced me to start quilting. I finally jumped in as I've always wondered if i could quilt. I needed to get my hands going again, so I decided on a Jelly Roll Race design. I've always wanted an elegant Christmas Quilt to drape over the back of my sofa next to the tree, and I think I've finally found the perfect one! Surprise

This started out with two Bon Bon Bebe charm packs, white Kona Cotton yardage, 16 yellow 2 1/2" squares and an "I don't know what I am going to make yet .... just want to make some flying geese". After watching Jenny Doan's "The Dutchman's Puzzle Quilt" tutorial to make the flying geese, I came across her new tutorial called "Love Notes Star Quilt" and decided to combine the two patterns and before I knew it a quilt top made of mostly half square triangles emerged. The finished quilt measures 59"x59" and is a very generous lap size. I quilted it on my home sewing machine by stitching in the ditch.

This pattern doesn't have a name because I just played around with half square triangles after seeing a website that showed all the possibilities! I made it for my very first granddaughter...the first GIRL, after having three sons of my own, and three grandsons! My daughter in law asked for aquas and reds( I added a few grayish tapes). I wasn't sure about the color combination, but I was amazed at how it came out! One of my favorites! It was quilted by a professional longarmer.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

A quilting buddy gave me this Christmas panel last year but being a 'newbie' at quilting I didn't know what to do with it. Then I saw the MSQC attic window tutorial and problem solved - except I didn't have any concept of how large it would become. Way too big for a wall hanging so I decided to add some blocks to the side, and an outer border to give it more width and I have a Christmas snuggle quilt! I used silver metallic thread to quilt snowflakes on it.

Christmas throw

I had some left over fabric from the Christmas themed quilt I made last year and wanted to finish it off. The finished size is only a 60x45. but it looks really cute tossed over a cozy chair.
