I had my sons Star Wars t-shirts hostage for about 15 years. I took a class at my favorite quilt store to learn how to make this quilt. My son loves this quilt, it was a surprise when I gave it to him. He did not know that I still had his shirts. I was happy when I came across the Star Wars fabric for the back and borders.

Dom's Trains

I chose this train fabric about 3 years ago for a quilt for my oldest grandson. I searched and searched for a pattern that I could use with out cutting up the big trains. I came across the walk about pattern and ordered it from the Grizzly Gulch website. I pieced the top and took it to my favorite quilt shop, A Little Quilt Shop in Waterford MI. It was sent out for quilting service and was back in a week beautifully quilted with construction vehicles as she did not have a train pattern to quilt it with. That is quite all right as he enjoys all types of vehicles.

Tumbling Blocks

This is the 1st quilt I ever attempted to make. It is a wall hanging. For many years it was a UFO, sitting sandwiched in a box. I was going to try to hand quilt it but I got carpal tunnel and was not able to do it. I felt bad that the quilt was sitting in a box for so long. I took it to my favorite quilt shop and had it quilted. I am very happy with the pattern and thread that i allowed the long arm quilter choose for me.

Lemon Poppy JRR2

I learned to sew on this quilt. Everything involved was new to me- from using a rotary cutter, making 1/4" seam allowances, putting on a border (or three) sandwiching, quilting, using a walking foot, and the binding, From start to finish, I looked up each new step as I came to it or watched a video on how to do it. I was able to complete the quilt before Christmas 2014 and give it to my kiddo as a present. He loves this quilt and I love that it is keeping him snuggly warm in our bitter cold winters here. This quilt is a keeper and will stay in our family.

Made from donated fabric. I pieced the back into blocks to make use of all the fabric, so it made it reversible. This is a very fast pattern but doesn't look it.

This is Eleanor Burns Day and Night pattern, with a little 10 minute block in it to add that punch of red. This was one of my first completed quilts that wasn't a rag quilt, or a QAYG. I do wish the picture would show the entire quilt that I had uploaded.

First Quilt, not quite what I visioned.

A year and one/half ago I was not a quilter. Saw a quilt though that I had to have and that was the start of it all. It is somewhat of a sorry mess, but still a great cover-up on the couch. Since then I have made twelve more quilts, each time getting better. Love batiks but have now started to move into other fabrics too.

QR Code

I made this birthday quilt for my son who is a math & computer whiz. It's a working QR code! I found a free website that makes the QR code from text you type in. Then printed it out to use as my pattern. Sewed the black and white pieces together row by row. Backed it with flannel of the university from which he graduated for a cozy quilt.

Pond in the Meadow

Inspired by a jelly roll of batiks. I made all the blocks then then realized the only thing I had that matched for a border was an echinacea print from Micheal Miller. It looks like a pond in a meadow of wildflowers to me, so I use it in the dead of winter to remind me spring's just around the corner!.

Robert's Quilt

When my nephew Robert found out he had pancreatic cancer at the age of 48, I made this for him because as I could not be with him .He loved it and carried it from room to room his sister said. It was not much, but it made us feel closer. Robert passed away barely two months later. I will forever call this pattern Robert's pattern.
