Delightful Stars
My quilting bee (me, my sister, and a friend) finished another quilt top done three ways. The pattern was Delightful Stars by Mishka's Playground.
This time we decided to challenge ourselves and use something outside of our comfort zone. I usually do bright colors, so my quilt would be subdued. My sister usually does florals and retro stuff, so she's doing brights and white. Our friend likes browns, so she's using batiks and purples.
It was a fun quilt, but we all hated our quilts at first. They became our 'Uncomfortable Stars' quilts but eventually we grew to love them even though they weren't our individual styles.
Blocks were different sizes, so the layout was different too - 7 sections sewn together. And it has 5 borders! Most of the blocks are pieced, but a few were paper pieced. It easily fits a king sized bed - this is the largest quilt I've ever made. My daughter loves it, so it's going to live on her and her husband's bed.
