I only took up making quilts a couple of years ago, inspired by seeing a friend’s quilt on Facebook. Jenny Doan’s Tutorials have helped me enormously, without her I wouldn’t have known where to start! I only manage to get to the sewing machine a few hours a week, usually supervised by my cat, Fliss, but I’m building a huge stash for when I retire!

Jewel toned charm quilt on point
I loved the tutorial for this quilt by Jenny yesterday. I look forward to the MSQC tutorial every week. I had to make this quilt right away. This will be a wedding gift for a friend. I wanted to have smaller borders, so I made four borders. I love the look of the tiny border. I just finished free motion quilting the quilt for a wedding in two days :-)

Autumn's Window
I made this quilt for my husband when I realized that I hadn't made him a quilt yet. My husband loves the outdoors, so when I saw Jenny's attic window tutorial, I knew I was going to make it for my husband. I wanted a bigger quilt so I added leaves and flying geese. I braided thread around the needle as I was sewing to make the leaf stems. I used a scrappy binding. This is the first quilt that I had a longarmer quilt.

Southwest Lonestar
Oh, goodness, This has been in storage for several years. I finally decided to get it back out and start quilting on it. I thought I would try doing it all by hand. Will see when I get to the borders how I feel then, Ha Ha Ha This is a winter project and it's in progress. The colors aren't true on screen. I'm using 12' boards on my stretcher frame and I almost ran out of room, so this is an extra large king. I used Jan Krentz's instructions for this Lonestar. It is FINISHED!!! 101 X 101 inches

54, forty or fight
I like the illusion of curved piecing in the 54 forty or fight quilt pattern. I watched the Missouri star tutorial which really simplified the piecing. I used two different gray fabrics in the background with the lighter in the center blocks which kind of gives a medallion effect. I wanted to quilt it simply and quickly but of course that didn't happen.... Feathers, swirls, and curved dot to dot with a ruler. This is for the full size bed in the guest room. Quilt is 88x82 inches so has a nice drop on the bed. Now just need to make a couple of coordinating shams....

Nova quilt
Update: 8th quilt I quilted on my longarm. Quilted with Urban Elementz "Marmalade" pattern and hand bound. - I started piecing this (mostly batik) blue and yellow GE Designs "Nova" pattern quilt when I found out that my friend's 20 year old daughter has stomach cancer. She is having surgery today. Her favorite colors are sky blue and yellow. I'll quilt it on Wednesday after the tropical storm passes. 68" x 82" posted 8/3/2020

Cotton Rainbow with a Twist
I loved this Cozy Quilt Designs pattern. I changed the background from a light color to black and added the pieced boarders around the sides. Finished size after washing is 56" x 56". I had this quilted by MSQC. They did a great job!
