Twisted Sugar Blocks
I loved Amy Gibson in the Craftsy 2012 BOM class. I learned different techniques (paper piecing!) and had fun. So when she started the Sugar Block Club in 2013 I had to join. I finally got around to putting the blocks together in a layout I thought up. I wanted the quilt to be big enough for at least a double bed and I had a few blocks that were smaller than the others. So, I framed them in one color and twisted them in another color. You can't tell which are small now! Then I made a piano key border out of the leftover fabric and added that to the top to make it even bigger and use up all my leftover fabric. This was my first attempt at mitering the border. I love it!
The other two photos are tops my sister and our friend made. We all made the same blocks, but with different fabrics and different layouts.
