I started quilting when my youngest daughter was having her first baby and saw a quilt she really wanted, so I made it for her! I have learned a lot since then and quilting has become a big part of my life now. I enjoy making quilts for my family and friends. It's a good feeling to know that what I have made will be loved, useful, and last long after I'm gone.

I downloaded this pattern from QuiltWoman.com. This was my second large quilt (I had only made baby quilts until recently). The fabric came from The Sewing Basket in Salado, Tx. and a wonderful long-arm quilter (Virginia Foote) that was also in the store helped me choose the fabrics. She now does all my long-arm quilting and what luck I had to bump into her that way! The pattern uses 2 1/2 inch strips which I cut with my accuquilt. I think the quilting pattern is called Ribbons and Leaves. The quilt is about 66" square.

Doggie Herringbone
I wanted to make a quilt that my son and his girlfriend would love. The quilt was their Christmas present. They have a Boston Terrier that is their child and this fabric has adorable Boston Terriers on it. I used layer cakes - Best in Show by Greta Lynn for Kanvas Studios and a white layer cake also. The pattern came from a tutorial on MSQC. It is quilted with a cute dog bone pattern. Also used the flange binding tutorial and loved how the binding turned out.

A wonderful couple loaned a travel trailer to my son (44 years old) so he could stay near MD Anderson in Houston the 100 days required after a stem cell transplant after chemotherapy for leukemia. I stayed there as his caregiver. It was a difficult time but made so much easier because of their generosity. I made this quilt for them to thank them!

This is the first quilt I ever made. My sister talked me into a paper piecing class and I've been hooked ever since. A non-traditional log cabin made for baby Catie, grandchild no. 7! The girls at my local quilt shop helped pick out the fabrics. I used the left over fabric for the back.

Miniature Primitive Spare Change
I've owned the Spare Change Ruler for some time and decided it was time to experiment. I used both a Moda Charm Pk and a Mini-Charm Pk using the Collection For A Cause Mill Book Series circa 1852. I think it is precious but what surprised me most was how small the finished project was...24" x 28". An entire charm pk and mini-Charm pk was used, no waste whatsoever.
