Bordered Periwinkle
After seeing the video tutorial I just had to give it a try. While the tutorial showed a darker fabric collection used in their sample I just fell in love with this softer collection (Moda Whitewashed Cottage) and hoped it would turn out beautiful. It did! My youngest daughter is already begging for this one. My favorite is the pop of yellows.

Lucky Penny Table Runner
Decided to play with my new 5" half-hexagon ruler. Pulled out a Moda charm pack of prints and a Kona charm pack of solids along with the Lucky Penny Quilt pattern. I just love how the pattern gives directions for every size from runner to King. Decided to quilt simply by sewing 1/4" on both sides of each print hexagon. It was so easy I may plan to make a larger, bed size next.

Flower Fancy Table Runner
Was in the mood to play with the MSQC 5" tumbler ruler and the remainder of a half used charm pack of prints and half of a charm pack of solids. I used the Flower Fancy pattern but made this a little shorter than the pattern due to the amount of charms I had to work with... it is big enough in my opinion.

Miniature Primitive Spare Change
I've owned the Spare Change Ruler for some time and decided it was time to experiment. I used both a Moda Charm Pk and a Mini-Charm Pk using the Collection For A Cause Mill Book Series circa 1852. I think it is precious but what surprised me most was how small the finished project was...24" x 28". An entire charm pk and mini-Charm pk was used, no waste whatsoever.

Zipper Quilt
Used the adorable Moda Aloha Girl Charm pack along with a bright white Cotton Supreme jelly row to make this Zipper Quilt. I think it makes a cute baby or toddler quilt. This one will be displayed until I need a baby gift or donation quilt. The backing is a piece I've had in my stash for years.

Disappearing Pin Wheel
I made this for my granddaughter's 12th birthday using a 10" precuts collection called 'Love At First Bite'. I didn't follow the directions completely by choosing to use all the 10" squares in blocks rather than piecing some into a border. With more blocks and a simple border, I was able to make a queen size quilt to fit her bed.

Dr. Seuss The Lorax Strip Twist
After purchasing a jelly roll of The Lorax collection from MSQC and needing to make a quilt for my grandson's 4th birthday, I found the Strip Twist pattern free on Bonnie Hunter's quiltville.com website. It made up so quickly and was perfect for a young boy. I purchased the Dr. Seuss Lorax book to go along with the quilt. You can see from his smile that the quilt and book was just what he wanted.

Buried Treasure
Sometimes its hard to find the perfect fabric for a 13 yr old boy but when I spotted this Layer Cake by Benartex called Buried Treasure, I knew I had to make something for my grandson Austin. I don't recall the name of this pattern but it was very simple using a layer cake sliced once leaving a 6" x 10" rectangle and a 4" x 10" rectangle, then adding a 2 1/2" strip to the top and one side of each rectangle. Alternating the direction of each rectangle created the design.

Tumbler Purse
I've quilted for many years but had never made a purse/bag. My oldest daughter's birthday was a good reason to conquer my fear. The video tutorial made this look simple enough for even ME to make. It was super easy and I'm very proud of myself, plus my daughter seemed happy with her gift.

Quilt Neighbors
My local quilt guild issued a challenge to design a quilt that would incorporate a scrappy group of 6 1/2" Modified 9-Patch blocks that they provided. I continued the scrappy theme by using my own scraps to piece each house and the trees. I wanted to recreate the look of all the quilt barns I see when I travel from my home in New York to my birthplace in Tennessee.

Bright & Bold Carpenter's Star
I made my oldest daughter (in picture) a Carpenter's Star, oversized queen, for her birthday. She had long ago worn out the quilt I made her when she was a teenager and had been asking for another quilt for quite some time. I decided to use bright, bold, happy fabrics rather than more traditional ones.

Sailboat Jellyroll Baby Quilt
This was made with a batik jellyroll. I added appliqued boats made from regular quilting fabric. I got feedback from some wonderful quilters on the Missouri Star Quilt Forum about how to quilt it. I love the way it turned out. My niece loved it as well and hung it in the baby's room over his bed.

Mom's Stained Glass
I made this appliqued wall hanging for my mom from a stained glass pattern that she made for her door. All fabrics except the background are batiks. The black lines are Clover Fusible Bias Tape. This was my second completed quilting project.

Summer in the Park
Summer in the Park is a quick and fun quilt. I went scrappy by mixing up the blocks. I'd probably not use the navy and red strips or the very light background with large print. I used quilt as you go on the 16" squares. I was really happy to see how well the pre-quilting lines came together where blocks joined.

Scenes in Navy Blue
Saw an example of this in Embroidery Library's Quilter's Showcase (online) and just copied the design. This was a UFO that was stored away for several years until I finished it in 2014. I don't remember whose designs the embroideries came from.

Dresden Heart
Found the Dresden Heart pattern here: http://quiltingupacreek.com/free.htm. The rest fell into place once I had the "heart" completed. My husband suggested the bear applique. The little sawtooth border was made using scraps.
