I retired in 2013 and shortly thereafter I found a video by Jenny Doan at Missouri Star Quilt on how to make a Dresden bag. She had a helper during that video named Steven. He was actually the designer of the bag. Before this video I was intimidated by sewing, even though my mother sewed a lot (I could never get "into" it). After watching the video I decided there and then that if a man could do it, so could I. So I made a mini version. Now I have a closet FULL of fabric (you quilters know how that goes :) !) and many bags, table toppers, small quilts, etc. under my belt. I also paint, crochet, macrame, and create chainmaille jewelry and sell some of these items on my Etsy shop (Ladyknotsalot).
