I have loved sewing ever since I took Home Ec in Junior High. I made my clothes and sewed for my 3 children. Now that it is cheaper to buy clothing, I began quilting. I have always been interested in it. My first quilt was many years ago before rotary cutters. It was polyester squares. I now have so much fabric that I hope to live a long life and use it.

Elephants
I found this pattern at a quilt shop in Oklahoma. My oldest daughter lives elephants so I made it for her Christmas present. I had a lot of fun choosing the fabrics from my stash.

Daybreak
This was inspired by my sister-in-law. She told me one day if she wanted a quilt she would buy one.So over a few months I asked her what colors she liked and sent her a couple quilt pictures to see if she like them.Then I saw the video on Jordan Fabrics and I knew it was the one.I bought the pattern and then went to Jo-Ann fabrics and picked out the Black/White and bought the Gold and background White at Fabric Depot.Started cutting and sewing and just finished this much of it a few days ago.I am going to put 2 borders in Gold and Black. I did use the Tutorial Daybreak Quilt Pattern using a Strip Set from Jordan Fabrics on Youtube. Cozy Quilt Designs made this originally in Batiks. You can go to there site on Youtube and watch it.

Pumpkin Placemats...
I cut a pumpkin out of newprint paper...then cut others by that pattern. I cut strips 2-2 1/2 inches wide and used newsprint pumkin it as a foundation to sew my strips to. Then cut to the pumpkin shape when done. I used a batting and backing to finish. Then quilted each one.

It's All About the Fabric
I had a design roll of Kaffe Fassett fabric for a couple of years and didn't know how to best use it without cutting the pieces up too small and losing the glorious fabric designs. I decided that diamonds would be ideal and the black sashing would make the colors pop. I've never made a diamond pattern before and I didn't even have a diamond template to use! So I used my 60-degree triangle ruler to make the shapes. Sewing with biased edges was tricky but I'm very happy with how this quilt came out. I used a beautiful blue fabric for the backing.
