My Daughter is a new US History Teacher. She asked me to make some quilts for her classroom. I made this flag for her room. It is so easy and quick to make. It turned out beautiful. My daughter loved it.

This is a pattern from Bonnie Hunter's site quiltville. It is called Pineapple Blossom. She made hers with sashing but I left that part out . It is made from my scrappy stash. It is first in line to be the next quilt to be free motion quilted.

Inspired by Pinterest, Modified by Me !!!
I do love looking at the quilts that other people make, on this "Quilts by Me" site and on Pinterest. I am always looking for inspiration that will take me out of my comfort zone - traditional piecing methods. A month ago, I was looking for a twist on the typical Dresden plate quilt -- they kinda always look the same! When I saw a photo of someone else's rendition of the Dresden plate quilt, I knew I found the 'model' from which I would devise an original creation by me! The last photo is the photo that I saw on Pinterest. The brown/beige/red/green quilt is the one I made after finding this lovely pattern.

Disappearing Pinwheel
I almost put this one in the trash! I has such "odd" measurements to cut when the squares were ready to be separated that it wasn't working out too well...but a friend suggested that I add the appliqué and with my AccuQuilt Go, I cut the flowers, leaves and stems and added them. Now its one of my favorite quilts.

"Pasture" for the Theodore
My friends and I each have a wooden moose named after the Chipmunks (Theodore, Simon, and Alvin). I decided the moose needed some "pasture". Each Moose got his own pasture. Life is good! Fun way to use up some scraps.

Mom's Fabric - Project 1
When my Mother passed away, my brother asked me what I was going to do with her fabric. I told him that WE were going to make quilts. So, I went thru her sewing room and cut 1 1/2" strips. Fabric that was in a UFO that I didn't think I would ever finish, scraps, etc. I ended up with 4 big tubs of strips. My brother has 12 blocks finished. I was determined to finish at least 1 quilt. I still have 3 tubs left. I guess I will have to make another one!

Made this cutie for my youngest grandson Mason. Used his older brothers handprints to make the bush under the fox and had the oldest brother write all the signs which I embroidered over. Used no pattern just my imagination although I was inspired by the fabric.

My Grandmother had made my daughter and my niece a Sun Bonnet Sue when they were 3 and 5 (they are now 28 and 30). My niece had twin girls a year ago and my sister, their grandmother asked me if I could make a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt so that both twins would have one. Well here it is. I hope Grandma would be proud.

Badlands star
I made this quilt for my father-in-law. Hee is an amazing wood carver. He had his 80th birthday this summer and all of the kids made it home for his celebration. I wanted to honor him, but also know how he is about things that are fussy. What better than a large star quilt. Rather than using fussy prints I used basis that reminded me of north Dakota.
