I have been quilting for over 20 years. Starting with finishing a quilt my grandmother started for me then went on the making lap quilts using the tie method. Now I use my machine and free motions quilt since I love art. I read quilting books but try to do my own style. I watch Jenny's tutorials like I'm watching TV shows. Always learning, avoiding uuhm, housework. Happy Quilting!!

Nick's quilt
He's a K-State Fan and my nephew, I had four friends help me make the front of the quilt, triple Irish Chain Quilt. My friends and I make quilt for kids 0-18 who are hurting from medical reasons or emotional. Some kids end up with a lot of time in the hospital and a quilt is comfort. Nick had a car accident in Nov 2014. We made a quilt. I had my boys hold the quilt for me.

Color quilt
My daughter asked for a quilt with "all the colors, except pink." She also requested triangles. She picked all of the fabrics. I made a silly math error at the beginning, and the triangles are half as big as intended. This one took me a lot longer than anticipated!

Accidental Tree Skirt
This is one pattern I hadn't really thought of for a Christmas tree skirt. In making another skirt I errored in adjusting the size and it was way too big. I totally dis-assembled it and trimmed each block down to size. The cut off pieces were almost the right size for the binding tool star. I couldn't bear to waste the fabric, so I played with it a bit and this is what I came up with.This skirt is 60". I've never added machine embroidery before either but the light areas were so large it just seemed they needed it

Irish Chain Quilt
Saw this tutorial from Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company and it reminded me of a quilt from my childhood my great grandmother had on her bed. Had to make it! Although still a beginner and having problems with the stated quantity of material (had to reorder fabric) I am happy with the almost finished project. Still have to bind the quilt and quess what, I need more fabric for the binding. It has been a UFO for a couple of months and once I figure out what to do about the binding It will be complete.

Tree of Life
I won a Tree of Life panel at a local quilting get together but wasn't sure what to do with it. Eventually I found and used the pattern "Spotlight" by Mountainpeek Creations. Fabrics are from the peacock and tree of life line by Timeless Treasures. Ginny at Candy Mountain Quilting did the machine quilting for me. I added about 500 crystals. They are hard to see in the photo but if you look carefully at the flower stamens, bird eyes and trailing leaves you can see some of them. This is the quilt that won a blue ribbon at the county fair.

WINGED FASSETT QUILT
Winged Fassett is my example using Jenny Doan's Easy Strip Butterfly Quilt that is profiled in one of her video tutorials and Missouri Quilt Block Magazine. The colors that Kaffe Fassett uses combined with this particular pattern make a vibrant quilt. I sewed a piano key border with the remaining fabric. Then, I machine quilted an all over design of butterflies and flowers on my embroidery machine. The lap sized quilt is the perfect addition for my ten year old granddaughter who has decorated her bedroom with a butterfly theme. But, before that happens I need to remove the pink safety pin from the corner of the quilt.
