Octopus Quilt
A friend just had a baby. She told me the nursery is aqua, navy, and tan, and ocean-themed. This is what I came up with. Octavian the Octopus is from an Elizabeth Hartman pattern, and I just added some ocean-themed scraps.

I bought this as a kit, and had it a while as I was totally overwhelmed with trying to figure it out. Then I realized I had done this fusible Technique in a class and I was off and running! This was one of the funnest projects I’ve ever done...I loved cutting out shapes and fusing them to create these fun silly faces!

Grandson Quilt
My grandson saw some dinosaur fabric I had and asked for a quilt. I used a panel and the disappearing nine patch block. The quilt is 80 by 70. Not my best work but I think he will love it anyway. I also made him a pillowcase and a little pillow. Used Jenny’s tutorial on the pillowcase. And I tried out the chenille on the pillow.

I fell in love with this panel & searched online until I found it. It is called "Toomuchery". I cut it up & used a whimsical grey print as sashing. The blocks were not printed square. So glad I bought several so I could pick the best out of the bunch.

Baby Girl Stars
I just love the Happiness Is Handmade fabric line by Lori Whitlock for Riley Blake. I decided to make white stars with the girly colors. I used a pale pink Minky for the backing and made two burp cloths with left over fabric and flannel. I used a simple daisy pattern for the quilting. For one of the young Moms at church.

M&M Quilt
Made from a piece of M&Ms fabric and coordinated bright scraps, this quilt has been called my M&M Quilt from its beginning. The pattern is actually the Brave World Quilt from the book MORE NICKEL QUILTS, by Pat Speth. I used her pieced block pattern and her border (border shown in 2nd photo.) I decided to try quilting from the reverse side, following the wavy lines on the wild piece of fabric that I pulled from my stash for the backing (shown in picture three by my young granddaughter, who declared that she liked the back "the best".) Hmmm, not the first time I've heard that; maybe I should switch to plain backing fabric, LOL.

Disappearing Nine Patch
This is my first "bigger" quilt...made with flannels. I have made several smaller lap quilts. My friend quilted it for me because I was afraid to try to do it myself. I am determined to learn how to use her machine and do it myself next time!
