The Ribbon Box Quilt

I made this RIBBON BOX QUILT, by Cloud9 Fabrics for my new granddaughter. Her mom requested mint green, peach and gray colors. I added a touch of yellow. There are no "blocks" in this pattern. It's made by creating rows, piece by piece, with no borders. The straight line quilting was done by a LQS because I'm still not the best at FMQ on my domestic machine. It was definitely one of my favorites...so much fun to create!

Double Crossed

I made this quilt for a gentleman that has recently retired. He moved to South Carolina and promises to send me a photo of himself with it on his lap, in his rocking chair on the front porch. Maybe when the weather is cooler. It is an Amy Smart pattern but it resembles Summer in the Park. I am trying that one next. I did FMQ on my Babylock.

Peggy's Quilt #4 - Simon's Halloween Quilt

This is my fourth quilt. My son and daughter-in-law moved to California and took my 2 grandkids with them. ;{ So I made them each a Halloween Quilt. This one is for 6-year-old Simon. The machine piecing on this one didn't take long (May 18-21, 2015), using the MSQC Four Patch Frenzy tutorial. The fabric is Cheeky Pumpkins by DT-K Signature (1 layer cake) plus half of one black jelly roll and half of one white jelly roll. The back is orange flannel. It was long arm free-motion quilted by Lyn Durbin at Camlyn Quilts. Lyn put spider webs in the corners as well as Simon's name and 2015. I love quilting! Peggy

Texas Bluebonnets Forever

I made this quilt for my mom. She's a quilter too, so I knew she would appreciate it. My parents finally moved back to TX a few years ago, so this will look great in their house. I used the Texas Forever pattern by Must Love Quilts and used a color palette similar to the state flower, the bluebonnet.

Moose in the Woods

Moose on the Loose fabric is so much fun. Used the layer cake and Jenny's Double Slice tutorial. The hubs thinks it's his favorite so far. My LAQ used a pattern that resembles oak leaves which is perfect for the moose in the woods.

I'm a bit intimidated by panels....which is funny because I've made dozens and dozens of quilts. I wanted a fun border and tried really hard to do the math for the checkerboard border and it didn't turn out perfectly, but the quilt is for me, so I'm good. LOL. I did love FMQing this one. Twinkling Stars for Christmas

Mom taught me to sew at the age of 10. She is an accomplished seamstress and quilter. Over the years she has made quilts for 8 of her children, 25 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren, numerous friends, and charities including Habitat and babies of addicted mothers. Now however, at 90 mom can’t quilt anymore because she is unable to leave her bed. I wanted her to see that her tradition lives on, each stitch sewn was a testament to my love for her and all the wonderful blessings she has given me and so many others.

Star Light

Found this pattern in a McCalls quilting magazine and just loved it. I wanted to make it in the same colors used in the magazine. I was able to use fat quarters from my stash and the red was left over from another quilt. Only had to buy border fabric and backing. Had it longarm qullted.
