I have always loved to sew. Even as a little girl I would sew for my dolls. I learned the basics of sewing in the 4-H Club. When our first grandchild came along in 2014 I decided to try making a baby quilt. That was my first quilt ever. I enjoyed it so much. I love working with the fabrics and seeing the design come together. MSQC has been a great support.

Harper's Birds and Flowers
I made this quilt for my first grandchild. It was my first quilt project and I loved the challenge. The design was inspired by pictures used to decorate the baby room. I found it very special that Harper Paige was born on the very day I did the last stitches on the quilt, two weeks before due date.

This was my second quilting project - for our second grandchild. I found the idea for this quilt while browsing through the internet. Being inexperienced, I cut out all the triangles indiviually. Later I discovered Jenny´s tutorials. Thanks for all the great tips.

Heart cushion
A friend of mine is fighting cancer and I wanted so much to do something special for her. I am caring for my husband, who has ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig´s disease, and he has been so supportive of my plan to make this quilted cushion-cover, allowing me to take the time necessary. Quilting has become my therapy. I love working with the fabrics and designs but most of all I love the joy of reaching out to someone else to show that I care and think of them often.

Wyatt´s Quilt
Wyatt´s Dad was a great lover of Lego and construction equipment when he was growing up. In fact, he still loves them both even today. So what other theme could I use for his first-born baby boy but Lego and contruction. I was fortunate enough to find this Lego fabric in England. I like the bright and cheery colors. Sequoia Leonna´s Quilt
When our son and daughter-in-law announced that another baby was on the way, I decided to take the chance and make a girl quilt, seeing as they already had two lovely boys. (They didn´t want to know before hand if the baby was a boy or a girl.) Well, you guessed it, little Hendrix Cole arrived and so he got the blue whale quilt. As you never know what the future holds, I just decided to set the quilt aside and see what happens. Well, I didn´t have to wait long. A couple of months later my niece gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Sequoia Leonna. This turned out to be her welcoming gift!

My sister and I meet once a year at a family reunion. Invariably, we've discussed projects that we cannot seem to complete. So we began swapping the projects. What she cannot face once more, is new and fun to me, and what I am stumped with, she can solve. This quilt is an example. She completed the top, I finished it off. A coworker asked me to make her a baby quilt for her grand baby that was on the way. She supplied everything and I just put it together for her. I love half square triangles! There is so much you can do with them! I must've laid out my squares in about ten different patterns before deciding on this one. I feel so blessed living among such beautiful flowers as they seem to be the backdrop of many of my photos. This one is no exception, the hydrangeas in Japan are simply amazing.
