Quilting by hand until about 5 years ago - including the piecing- until I finally got the machine thing figured out! Now doing about 1 per month. Added the quilting 18 months ago with a long arm. I can still piece 10 times faster than quilt them and dream them up 100 times faster than piece them. AW-well, that's what stash is for. Am I RIGHT, or what???

Made for my Boss and wifey- 2019. They loved it! So did I. I thought it was an old Jenny tutorial but can't find it now. It was fast and really fun to sew and to quilt.

Trip around the world
Purple is Dtrs favorite color. This was very difficult for me. It seems I can't SEE color variations on the graduated fabric. I liked to never got this much. It was to be 2 xs this size but ended up a table topper. I did quilt amazingly. She loved it this year for Christmas

French Braid
My 3rd I think on the sewing machine. Had so much fun and it turned out so amazing. It was supposed to be for my chocolate lab but, sorry girl after I had hand quilted it. I use it everyday in my chair. I learned to hand quilt at a quilting bee in Topsey Texas in the fan pattern. It was in an 1800's old school house that the ladys met with my Grandma. It's still more pleasing to my eye than the machine Used an old book I had on hand back in 2016. Finished the hand stuff 2017.

Connecting Threads pattern - no idea
This one I really got going on - 4th one I think. All machine pieced and used an actual pattern that came with the fabric. A kit! I had it done in no time flat and was shocked. Quilted it free hand and gave it away for Christmas last year. She sure was pretty. Sort of miss her....

Blue pineapples flimsy but DONE.
I found Jenny about 2017 and got really addicted. I got the pineapple ruler and went to town. They take me about 4 hours per block but I'mm a bit anal about squaring and strips be distributed right. Next one will go faster I'm sure as I learn to trust the quilt me than me! She finished great and husband claimed it ABSOLUTELY not allowed to give away. Ha! Can't decide how to quilt and don't trust my free hand just yet to do it justice. Oh well, She is mighty pretty on the wall and he likes looking at it.

Tea Cakes
So I needed a fast pattern for a lady's 40 year Sobriety gift. She was turning 90 that day to so it had to be real special. grabbed the computer and has this thing ordered, watched how to, and had it done and out in 3 weeks. Fastest I ever sewed before- definitely a GOD deal there. Trying to bind it THAT day the Puppy was getting aggravated she STILL didn't have one yet. She loves it - just the right size she tells me.

Mans man log cabin
Got the pattern and fabric from a lil program on a website- Hubs picked it out. He has a great eye. Cut it out and kitted it and then MOVED 500 miles away. It went together fairly easy on a wonky working new Pfaff(lord is that a story). Quilted it in all over feather panto- my first! OMG I didn't get a finished pic- oh well. Here it is on the machne! Learned about batting I like and dont like. It is warm but will do things different next time. It Will keep your feet warm.

I fell in love with batiks after making the tea cakes quiltes for the grand girls. Had enough scraps left over from those 3 to go ahead and make DTR a huge bed quilt. She loves purple but was leaning to pink in 2017 so I went for it. Jenny Doan had the Cake mix and a tutuorial and TADAAAA! She love it and I found PINK puppy paws for the back - she is a dog groomer - perfect!

Tea Cakes to PRINCESS CROWNS
Make lots of quilts for the girls but not in batiks anything before. They worked great with the Cake mix as they finger press making going sewing a bit faster. I learned about squaring up a heck of a lot with the cake mixes though. Here they are - one for each in different shades of pink. I used a Dancing fairies pantograph using glow in the dark thread! They were awesome! The Tea cakes look like crowns. I made the left overs into a cat quilt for Dante... the cat from.... Born so close together they have to HAVE things identical but equaly pleasing - ARGH! No one argued this year and they werent "the same" It was a WIn-Win.

North Star Blues
The DOG. She has begged for a quilt for years. I give her my practice pieces from the long arm but they were not HERS she said. I saw the Northstar tutorial and dang it but she make you believe you can do ANYTHING - she is sneaky like that! Well I watch it and sent off for it and the fabric and spent 4 weeks crying and ripping. I just can't follow a pattern to save my life. I sat down one day and re-wrote the pattern in my own terms. watch the video and got it done. Then Since I had developed a deep resentment at the thing used it as a practice piece. I was gonna take it out and burn it but then - Aggie saw it and went nuts. Here she is in all her glory! It doesn't look too bad now I think...at least when she is laying about in her very own chair!

Twins were coming!
Twins were brewing - Farm boys to be exact. Poor lady I worked with looked so gi-normous poor dear! I decided to try the disappearing thingy blocks as I had 9 months. Again- can't follow a pattern and bidirectionally challenged got me too. But I did make it in 10months so at least they hadn't grown up yet, whew! Used farm animals and white and they did turn out cute. Learned more than I ever wanted to know about seam allowances for SURE. Things don't match up to well but DONE is better than perfect sometimes and by God they got done and gifted!

Olive Nort Star
So I just love that North star pattern and decided to make a smaller version to see if I could ACTUALLY do it. I make quilts for christmas for teams at my office. New girl says she Looooooves olive. So I search and search for Olive and find it. I have 3 weeks to do it in and I think YOU can do it! Guys I love the pattern but I suck at making this thing. Lots of tears and whining. I just can't do it. I almost went to just go BUY her one but couldn't find OLIVE! Got it done and my quilt frame grabbed it and stretch the edges on one side- all the other waves are from near impossible pattern following me - but hey, at least one side was NOT. I get credit for that one side that was perfect I swear. She loved it so I guess that is all that matters! Got-er-done the day before Christmas and she is pretty but Lord did I get close to God with those prayers I can tell ya.

Vintage Moments
I made this in a class at my LQS. It was sooo challenging for me. Initially, I disliked the quilt because of all the difficulties I had with it and couldn't stand the thought of trying to quilt it myself on my domestic machine. (besides the fact that it may have been impossible). So I had a local longarm quilter do it for me. She did an awesome job. Now that some months have passed, this quilt has become one of my favorites.

Here's my latest finish. It's for my daughter in California. The pattern is actually for a 33" square table topper, but my daughter liked the pattern. So I made all the blocks and leaves 1-1/2 times larger than the pattern was and made enough blocks to create this queen 95" square quilt. It's made with civil war reproduction prints. EDIT: Forgot to mention that I quilted it on my Janome 6600.
