This quilt was made from bed sheets and a skirt belonging to my mother-in-law who passed away. I made several quilts from her clothes for all her children.

This another wallhanging made from my mother-in law's clothes and some batik fabrics. It is my first attempt at applique and it was difficult as the clothes were mostly stretch knits and at the time I didn't know about interfacing. I made 11 different quilts as this amazing woman had 11 children! I only photographed the first 2. I look on this website and realise I need to learn to take better photos! The pattern came from a Fons and Porter Magazine.

This was a pattern entitled Giant Storm at Sea. I made if from paper templates using batiks. It was a gift to somone who was struggling while doing a PHD. It was meant to symbolise that even storms have patterns, struggle can bring clarity eventually! I have to keep the quilting simple as I have a tiny sewing machine. It is unfinished in this photo but finished since... My grandmother would say-A craftsman (woman) never blames his/her tools!!!

Made this for my mother from Jenny's Starburst tutorial. My mother loved it in her south facing room where the light made it glow!

A wallhanging made for a wedding gift to two creative people. I used many scraps of Kaffe Fassett fabrics, Kona cotton and 1 batik.

I was fascinated by Wagga Wagga quilts by Aboriginal people in which they used clothes etc. to make utility quilts So I made this years ago for my second grandson from his baby clothes. Many of which include American sport motifs, even though we are Irish. That was 8 years ago and it is still used, washed weekly and still stands up to everything. It is not the best made quilt but I loved making it. Have bags of clothes from other granchildren waiting for their Wagga Wagga quilt.

I made this log cabin quilt for one of my siter-in-laws to have in hospital when she was being treated for kidney cancer. The colours are knes I knew she loved. She is well now. I started learning to quilt from Quilt in a Day book on log cabin quilts and have a great love of them. This was my second quilt ever.

I made this from a precut kit from Flynn quilt company (?) as a gift for my medical ethics lecturer who is a fine woman. Here it is hanging in her home.

This is one of two similar quilts I made for two brothers who were off to university. I first learned to quilt from Quilt in a Day log cabin book and have sustained a great love for log cabin quilts. They are made from a mixture of Kaffe Fassett patterned and other solid fabrics
